The Division

The Wagering Products (WP) Division is responsible for driving the wagering business strategy and results for the Club through the wagering products of Horse Racing (Local and Overseas), Basketball, Football, Mark 6 Lottery and International Commingling with the aim to drive wagering turnover and revenue growth in a socially responsible manner.

Job Summary

The Trading Manager leads the Sports Trading Team’s daily operations, ensuring the effective execution of market strategies, robust risk management, and consistent achievement of profitability targets. This role drives operational discipline and business performance while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

The Job

• Formulates and communicates odds for events by:
• • Compiling odds for events
  • Communicating odds and information
  • Finalizing odds where required
• Maximises profitability of event betting and monitoring customer activity in regards to profitability by:
  • Identifying and executing price changes
  • Analysing profitability of event betting
  • Monitoring customer performance for immediate trends and season profitability
  • Reporting on market and/or product profitability and recommending action to improve the business
• Maximises profitability of in-play betting by:
  • Identifying and executing price changes
  • Analysing profitability of in-play betting
  • Reporting on in-play profitability and recommend action to improve the business
• Takes responsibility for the success of the team and makes time for training and developing the team by:
  • Planning and setting objectives for the development of the trading team, and the training and assessment of traders
  • Making decisions and being responsible for high-turnover and complex trading practices
  • Maintaining effective relationships with other departments near to Trading and external partners
  • Showing interest and offering support to strategic initiatives important to the entire business
  • Taking up shift management in the absence of the Senior Trading Manager
• Ensures compliance with Responsible Gambling Policy and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to football betting, thereby protecting the integrity of the Company's business
• Undertakes other duties assigned by Line Manager

About You

• A minimum 7 years' experience managing a football or US sports trading team that includes fixed-odds
• Bachelor degree with strong numerical and analytical skills
• Less experienced candidates will be considered as Senior Trader
