Assistant Corporate, Membership and Community Programs Development Manager
Job Summary
With the full development of the Club's China development strategy, GBA (Greater Bay Area) development has taken on increased importance with three notable pillars: development of the national and GBA racing vision, development of high quality Mainland Membership/Ownership Base, as well as protect and establish awareness/rapport for Club's core brand (including Mainland integrated reporting / ESG, as well as Mainland charity platform). Equally important to enable such development will be an integrated way of telling the Club's story in a way which is relevant for the Mainland, focused on articulating the economic, social and fiscal contributions of the club'society. This will ensure that our key stakeholders (which may include Govt. officials, members, academia, media...) are aligned and will support our core business development initiatives in the long term. This will be manifested in the concept of "the Center", which will be a showcase of the Club's integrated contributions to Society, dovetailing with its membership value proposition. For Mainland Membership Charity, apart from exceptional circumstances such as Sichuan projects, Mainland membership remains so far the most prevalent channel through which we do GENERAL Mainland charity donations. The job holder needs to drive the revamp of the Mainland Membership Charity giving model, from the way funds are raised, to the way a program platform is built (i.e. pure donation vs. engagement platform), to a way members are engaged and communicated with. A series of initial charity projects in North China and a program platform have been identified, with many details to be confirmed. In addition to the above, the job holder needs to identify a few projects in the GBA which are relevant for the Club's key areas, high priority for society, and can be demonstrated in front of key stakeholders. Last but not least, thought leadership is needed to help package and summarize our existing IC's for projects such as Sichuan into flexible and easy-to-digest formats usable for key stakeholders. For the Higher Purpose of "the Center" Development - More holistically, the job holder needs to study the need, content, and format of an integrated showcase in the Mainland regarding HKJC's economic, social, fiscal contributions (in both HK and Mainland), in preparation for launch down the road to aid in our critical business development activities. Importantly, future membership facilities may not be purely positioned as a luxury F&B facility but rather as "the Center" - an integrated showcase of the Club's contributions to society connecting the dots of key resources such as members, academia, Government, and others. The job holder needs to articulate this within the context of how HKJC positions itself within the Mainland's overall development for equine and social development. Working with key stakeholders such as members, the team needs to establish an initial tailored framework which is highly relevant for HKJC's articulation in the Mainland, collect relevant info/data, and begin to articulate and socialize this agenda. Eventually, there could be some exchange forums inviting key members (who are all key leaders in their industries), Govt. officials, academics etc similar to a Philanthropy for Better Cities forum in the Mainland, which will aid not only in the Club's branding mileage, but also achieve very concrete results such as helping with members recruitment (i.e. adding a whole new level of aspiration to become a member of HKJC). The job holder will work with HoMSD on the above, to drive all the above, and will be a critical layer in ensuring quality control and upward/downward communication. In the future, this person will be looked up to as one of the subject matter experts of matters related to the articulation of the Club's social value contribution in Mainland China.
Major Tasks
- Assist with the establishment of a core set of charity donation / engagement target projects in collaboration with our members both in North China and the GBA, focusing on projects relevant to the Club's business areas, crucial for China's social development, and capable of establishing significant engagement with the Club's key stakeholders for future business development.
- Package the aforementioned projects into an integrated program platform - e.g., a members ""experience circuit"" where members and their children can teach/volunteer at all such programs on a rotational basis; an introduction circuit where Government Officials can do a days-long tour of different projects to understand HKJC's integrated model, etc.
- Establish series of signature projects and showcases (e.g., charity week and charity dinner) within the membership context in China, work closely with others on driving end-to-end process of project procurement, partner management, marketing communications, and launching showcase events.
- Conduct feasibility study to ascertain the need, content, and format of an initial business model (including content and funding plan) for ""the Center"" in the Mainland regarding HKJC's economic, social, fiscal contributions (in both HK and Mainland), in preparation for launch down the road, replacing the traditional membership facility concept heavily predicated on luxury and F&B.
- In the mid-term, work with internal and external partners to establish a full set of programs which will enable the launch and operations of the Center, including but not limited to General Leadership, Social / Business Innovation, and Charity / Society Betterment.
- Work closely with marcomm and other functions to turn charity contributions into flexible, diverse and easy to digest communication formats in order to be ready for rollout to different stakeholders.
