Assistant Mainland Affairs Manager (Media Plan)

Job Summary

The job holder supports the project management and business development of the Club's social betterment initiatives in the Mainland. He/she assists in crafting communication strategies and tools to promote the Club's best practices and contribute to improving community relations. The job holder also builds and maintains business relationships, negotiates commercial agreements, provides technical and operational support, and ensures the fulfillment of contractual consultancy obligations. Additionally, the job holder helps the Manager create engagement plans and collaborative programs with Hong Kong-based Mainland authorities to establish a sustainable and cooperative working relationship that aids the Club's initiatives in the Mainland.

Major Tasks

  • Oversee the preparation and implementation of the Club's Mainland social betterment initiatives by conducting and updating mapping of Mainland localities strategic stakeholders developing project plans/ vetting proposals, collaborating with partners, monitoring the progress and evaluating the outcomes
  • Help steer the direction, manage all aspects of the project budget, schedules, quality and scope for efficiency, as well as evaluate the effectiveness of the social betterment initiatives in the Mainland
  • Help manage business development projects/ funding applications and implementation of social betterment initiatives end to end, including but not limited to due diligence, assessment and research, Committee paper writing, project implementation and related event management
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver the social betterment initiatives concept through publications, publicity events and activities
  • Provide secretarial support for the working groups of the social betterment initiatives, including preparation of meeting materials, drafting of papers and reports, logistic arrangements etc
  • Work with relevant departments on the development of publicity and communication materials for engagement purposes and the Club's brand promotion in the Mainland
  • Help identify opportunities and supports business development projects in line with the Club's strategic developments in the Mainland where the Club pursues new initiatives (including donation and sponsorship, local government officials' policy thinking with implications on the Club's operations, and recommendations on mitigation measures in relation to policy risks.
  • For CA: Execute the engagement plan for strategic stakeholders in the local authorities and community partners to build an effective network of relationships, enhance their understanding of the Club's unique operating model, and secure their buy-in for the Club's Mainland vision and development strategy.
  • Plan and organise events and activities to facilitate engagement with strategic stakeholders, formulate hospitality arrangements for relevant Mainland guests invited to participate in Club events, and support senior management's engagement activities in the Mainland.
  • For WP: Supports in research and provide consultancy in writing for CSLAC which will help upgrade Sports Lottery Development in China
  • For WP: Supports EDWP's office for division-wide matters
  • Ensures compliance with Responsible Gambling Policy and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to wagering, thereby protecting the integrity of the Club's businesses
  • Undertakes other duties assigned by line manager

Education

A recognized university degree in social sciences, public administration, public affairs or a related discipline and relevant qualifications
