Laboratory Attendant

Job Summary

The job holder is responsible for supporting daily operations by ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, maintenance, and arranging chemicals and supplies in Racing Laboratory. The job holder aims to provide excellent services according established standards at top quality level to ensure business performance objectives and KPIs are achieved and reputation is maintained consistently.

Major Tasks

1. Cleans and prepares sample bottles and other paraphernalia to be used for collecting official samples (pre-race, post-race, etc.) and research samples.

2. Cleans glassware and laboratory utensils in full accordance with prescribed procedures.

3. Assists in unpacking and arranging chemicals and supplies, and in the disposal of biological samples and laboratory waste in accordance with licensing requirements for clinical and chemical wastes.

4. Cleans and tidies the laboratory, offices and lavatories (including floors, fixtures and furniture) to maintain environmental hygiene and to prevent laboratory contamination.

5. Monitors external maintenance workers and visitors within the laboratory.

6. Performs messenger duties, tea-making or other general duties.

7. Assists supervisor to maintain the laboratory's working environment, such as repair and maintenance needs in respect of the laboratory's infrastructure, furniture and fittings.

8. Assists in the uploading of test records to the laboratory document management system, and in the disposal of obsolete confidential documents as required.

Education

No minimum education requirement but must be able to use simple conversational English
