Manager, Racing Editorial
Job Summary
The job holder will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of high-quality content for the Club's media platforms and promotional materials, with a focus on horse racing in Hong Kong. This involves managing the end-to-end content creation process across multiple platforms. The job holder will supervise a team of content creators, ensuring that all outputs are accurate, engaging, and aligned with the Club's standards and policies. Thie job holder is accountable for close collaboration with vendors, internal departments, and key stakeholders to maintain and enhance race analysis tools, as well as to produce innovative and compelling content. The job holder will also be responsible for managing social media accounts, conducting interviews with industry professionals, and supporting the production of annual reports and major events. A strong emphasis is placed on creative thinking, editorial excellence, and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure the Club's content strategy is effectively executed and continuously improved.
Major Tasks
- Provide support to Chief Editor in producing CEO Blogs, producing written copy, previews and race reviews in a timely and accurate manner.
- With the expected increase in simulcast meetings from next season, to draft – as directed – CEO Blogs, edit simulcast copy and assist with managing the Club’s X racing account to drive engaging, unique content relating to Hong Kong’s world-class racing.
- Write, edit and publish CEO Blogs, along with news releases, corporate announcements, media communications and ensure a timely and accurate dissemination of information for PA Racing.
- Produce web profiles on key players (horses, jockeys and trainers) for the website as well as form guides, racing publications and media guides.
- Act as one of the layers editing and proofreading simulcast copy, ensuring the text follows strict PA Racing style guidelines, quality control and suitability.
- Maintain strong working relationships with key players, including jockeys, trainers and executive level staff to support cohesion as well as a comfortable and smooth working environment. This includes working closely across multiple departments, including Marketing, Broadcasting and Commingling.
- Support the Chief Editor’s requirements, including editing and delivering written copy when required.
Education
- A Bachelor degree in Communications, Sport or other relevant disciplines
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum five years’ work experience in horse racing, wagering or communications.
- Strong understanding of social media trends with a keen interest and track record in promoting sport, primarily horse racing.
- Excellent knowledge and a high proficiency in both written and spoken English.
- Strong knowledge of horse racing, not only in Hong Kong, but also on a global scale and how to effectively promote it.
- Effective with time management and communication.
- Strong capabilities of working in a high-pressure environment with strict deadlines.
- Understands the job and its requirements are demanding and can arise at uncommon hours of the day.
