Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club ("the Club") is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling. 

The Department

Our Catering Department manages one of the largest and most diverse catering operations in Hong Kong. We provide a wide range of catering, sports and recreation facilities for Members and their guests in three Clubhouses. In addition, both Happy Valley and Sha Tin Racecourses have numerous catering facilities used by Members, non-members and corporate organizations for a variety of functions.

The Job

• Manage and coordinate restaurant reservations, including answering calls, confirming bookings, and maintaining accurate reservation records in accordance with established service standards.

• Optimize table allocations using the Table Management System and floor plan to maximize operational efficiency and enhance the Member dining experience.

• Welcome Members and their guests with a professional and friendly attitude, escort them to their tables, introduce restaurant services, and facilitate a seamless arrival experience.

• Communicate guest preferences, special requests, and dietary or accessibility requirements to the service team to ensure exceptional and personalized service delivery.

• Proactively engage with Members and guests throughout their dining experience to ensure satisfaction and promptly address any concerns or feedback.

• Handle guest complaints and service recovery professionally, resolving issues directly or escalating them to appropriate management when necessary.

• Maintain accurate Member profiles and customer records within the Table Management System and MCRM, supporting relationship management and service personalization.

• Ensure reception, menu displays, and dining facilities are consistently clean, organized, and presented to the highest standards, including menu administration and printing coordination.Foster strong teamwork and collaboration with restaurant colleagues, providing operational support as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day service delivery.

• Act as a brand ambassador by upholding professional grooming standards, promoting the Club's dining offerings, building Member loyalty, and performing additional duties assigned by management.

About You

• Proven experience of at least 3 years in a Hostess or Receptionist position within the restaurant industry, with exposure to private clubs or luxury hospitality considered a strong advantage

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English, with Cantonese and Mandarin an advantage.

• Customer-focused with excellent service, problem-solving, and telephone etiquette.

• Familiar with restaurant operations, service etiquette, and reservation/booking systems.

• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage bookings accurately.

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stand or walk for extended periods.
