Manager, Tracks

The Job

  • Sha Tin Turf Track Daily Maintenance:
    • Responsible for the daily operation and work allocation to a team of 33 staff members.
    • Maintain and monitor the quality of track maintenance works for over 8.75 hectares of turf surfaces.
    • Prescribe the use of fertilizers and agrochemicals.
    • Supervise contractors for outsourced contracts namely divot and plugs turf repair after race meeting.
    • To have hands-on machinery operation skills on Turf and Dirt track maintenance.
    • To monitor the quality and maintenance standard for turf tracks and fringe areas.
    • To conduct racetrack assessment.
  • Race day Track Operations:
    • Running Sha Tin Turf Track and supervise Turf Tracks team during the Sha Tin race meeting.
    • Supervise over 50 casual labours during the Sha Tin race meeting.
    • Communicate with Starters and Starting gate positioning during race meetings.
  • Support Track work Operations:
    • Assist the running of race meeting on Happy Valley track when necessary.
    • Gates and cones positioning and repair for Sha Tin turf trials.
    • Supervise Sha Tin tracks team and contractors for repairing works after race meetings & turf trials.
  • Strategic Projects:
    • Support strategic projects as assigned by Senior Tracks Management.
  • Support Happy Valley Race day Operations:
    • Support the running of Happy Valley Track and race day operation while the PIC is on leave to achieve smooth year round racing operation.
  • Other Duties:
    • Required to work overtime in case of emergency.
    • To carry out other duties as assigned.

About You

  • Tertiary education in construction, E&M, Building, Civil or related areas
  • At least five years of experience in the fields of construction/ building services/ facility management, of which two years should have been in supervisory capacity
  • A good knowledge of:
    • Computer science and usage
    • Construction and irrigation
    • Staff supervision and labour relation
    • Business management skill
  • A high standard of spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Outgoing and willing to work in the field.
  • A valid driver's license (obtained at least class 1, 2) is required;
  • Class 18 or above driving license is an advantage
  • Forklift /other machinery operation license is an advantage
  • Solid project/ construction management and site supervision skills
