The Racing Division is committed to managing all aspects of Hong Kong’s world-class sport of horse racing, covering the full value chain — from importation and training to racedays, equestrian, welfare, integrity, and international engagement. The Job
- Analytics Project Management

- Business Requirement Gathering: Engage with stakeholders to understand and document business needs, objectives, and requirements for the analytics project
- Ideation and Planning: Develop project ideas and strategies, including defining scope, setting goals, and creating detailed project plans with timelines and resource allocation
- Implementation: Execute the project plan by developing and deploying analytics models, ensuring data quality, and managing resources effectively
- Continuously track project progress, provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders
- Quality Assurance and Risk Management: Implement quality control measures, monitor risks, and manage changes to ensure project deliverables meet standards and objectives
- KPI Dashboards Management And Analytics
- Assist team manager in preparing materials for strategic discussions and steering committees
- Prepare reports by running appropriate modelling and provide preliminary explanations of major variances/findings
- Perform analytical techniques to analyze equine health and performance data; provide initial interpretations/insights to senior managers from analytic models or other reports; Prepare analytical reports for senior managers
- Support his/her manager to produce standing or ad hoc management reports on business performances based on business and performance data available
- Make proposals on improvement or addition information of management reports supporting senior managers to manage and track performances, and provide insights accordingly
- Support cross-functional / cross-departmental projects, mainly on business performance analysis
- Ensure Availability and Quality of Equine Health Data And Develop A Central Data Source
- Coordinate with Veterinary Teams to understand the as-is status on data availability and quality and liaise with IT for feasibility assessment (e.g. data source / availability / quality / definition)
- Document data definitions and understand format and steps in recording
- Collect data from different systems / sources into a single, shareable database for analytics
- Data cleansing or reformat past data to the agreed definition, and support other departments in collecting data using agreed definition.
- Manage department data safety, consistency and integrity
- Support Predictive Modelling Projects
- Support the building of different analytical models using appropriate programme languages/algorithms
- Understand the model building requirements and obtain data internally and externally at the right data format/definition
- Support the development of the model programme ensuring logic, completeness, accuracy and verifiable programming details
- Support delivery teams as they develop, test, and deploy solutions
- Coordinate and deliver documentation and execute User Acceptance Test (UAT)
- Support Veterinary Departments to achieve KPIs
- Collaborate with Veterinary Teams to understand drivers of KPIs and operating issues
- Collect data to produce periodic KPI dashboard for timely tracking, review and implement corrective actions to deliver the required goals
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by supervisor
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Veterinary Science, Sport Science or related fields.
- 3–5 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in healthcare, veterinary, or sports science domains in terms of monitoring, managing, manipulating and drawing insights from data
- Experience with predictive modelling and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with IoT data, biometric data, and unstructured data processing using AI tools is an advantage.
- Understanding of the Racing industry is an advantage but not essential.
- Knowledge of data analysis, data visualisation
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one analytic programming language, ideally Python
- Strong understanding of data integration and ETL processes
- Experience in manging and working with multiple types of databases, e.g. relational databases and big data platforms
- Experience in machine learning e.g. regression, clustering, decision trees, anomaly detection is an advantage
- Familiarity with IoT data, biometric data, and unstructured data processing using AI tools is an advantage
- Knowledge of best business practices, benchmarks and metrics to assist in improving the organization’s performance
- Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Results-driven and ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal and time-management skills
- Fluency in both written and spoken English
