Catering Support Services Supervisor

Job Summary

The job holder is responsible for supervising the Housekeeping, Catering Support Services (CSS), and Facilities Services daily operations. They are tasked with organizing and directing the cleaning, hygiene, and maintenance functions throughout the Clubhouse or Racecourse, covering all front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house areas by leading teams to provide excellent services.

The job holder is accountable for:

  • Ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance to provide a comfortable and safe environment for employees, Members, and the public that meets the Club's standards and statutory requirements.
  • Adopting cost-effective practices to manage resources, services, and processes.
  • Supervising a team focused on service excellence and meeting business targets.

Major Tasks

  • Maintain the daily operations by:
    1. Implementing SOPs in line with established service standards.
    2. Leading the team to perform regular cleaning and maintenance functions while monitoring progress to ensure on-time completion according to established standards.
    3. Being responsible for implementing the technical programs for deep and special cleaning.
    4. Monitoring the work of the cleaning team for deep cleaning as scheduled in both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house areas in accordance with established policies and standards.
    5. Ensuring proper use and maintenance of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment, and that services meet all health and safety-related regulations and the Club's sanitation standards.
    6. Maintaining effective communication within Housekeeping, CSS, Facilities Services, and with Engineering and other departments.
  • Maintain the equipment, resources, and assets while adhering to budgeted expenses by:
    1. Maintaining a daily log showing assignments and notations on repair and maintenance items and special cleaning requirements that should be brought to the attention of the manager.
    2. Controlling all equipment and supplies issuance and returns.
    3. Maintaining par stock for all cleaning supplies.
    4. Implementing preventive cleaning programs in respective areas.
    5. Conducting daily inspections to ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition at all times; reporting any maintenance deficiencies to concerned departments and calling for repairs and maintenance as required.
    6. Implementing preventive maintenance programs and ensuring proper records are kept for all equipment.
    7. Taking inventory of all chemicals, supplies, and equipment regularly according to established guidelines.
    8. Assisting in stock-taking activities.
  • Assist in leading team members by:
    1. Orienting, coaching, and conducting on-the-job training for newcomers, ensuring they understand the codes of practices and management's expectations.
    2. Monitoring staff attendance to ensure punctuality.
    3. Maintaining a positive team atmosphere among team members.
    4. Assessing staff performance regularly and motivating them to achieve a higher level of performance.
    5. Conducting re-training for staff with sub-standard performance and recommending disciplinary actions if required.
  • Perform any other related duties as and when assigned by the supervisor.
