Equestrian Assistant 2
Job Summary
The job holder is responsible for ensuring the comprehensive care and presentation of equestrian horses, including daily grooming tasks, hoof care management, and health monitoring. The ideal candidate will have a passion for equine care, possess excellent grooming skills, and be capable of preparing horses for various activities.
Major Tasks
- Perform daily grooming tasks such as brushing, washing, and clipping to maintain the horses' coats, manes, and tails.
- Manage hoof care, including picking out feet and coordinating with the farrier for trimming and shoeing.
- Prepare horses for training, competitions, or recreational riding by ensuring proper tack and protective gear.
- Monitor the health of the horses for signs of injury or illness and collaborate with veterinary staff for necessary care.
- Maintain a clean and organized stable environment.
- Feed horses according to their dietary needs.
- Develop a trusting relationship with the horses to support their welfare and performance in equestrian activities.
- Assist with equestrian competitions and other events.
- Undertake general tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Education
Form 3 or above.
Qualifications
Holders of a driver's license or first aid certificate will be given priority consideration
