The Division
The Racing Division is committed to managing all aspects of Hong Kong’s world-class sport of horse racing, covering the full value chain — from importation and training to racedays, equestrian, welfare, integrity, and international engagement. With Conghua Racecourse and Greater Bay Area expansion, we’re shaping racing into a dynamic sporting, social, and entertainment experience.
The Job
- Deliver Quality Services to Customers: Conduct riding lessons and organize equestrian activities, ensure excellent service. Be open to client feedback and improve performance accordingly. Support the administration team in providing timely and efficient services
- Enhance Riding Establishment Safety Standards: Follow safety directives and promote safety guidelines. Regularly school and care for horses and ponies. Review tack for safety and proper fit. Adhere to management policies and procedures. Review and examine tack to ensure safety and optimum fit for horses
- Support day-to-day operations: Plan and implement training schedules. Maintain lesson records and billing accuracy. Increase riding school efficiency. Facilitate lessons and client participation.
- Provide Coaching: Coach livery and riding school clients. Develop youth programs for talent. School retired racehorses and livery horses. Select horses for development.
- Co-ordinate the day-to-day equestrian rider's activity including horse allocations, overseeing training and development of horses and riders. Support veterinarians and farriers. Assist during veterinary evaluations and retraining. Ensure horse welfare and best practices. Manage horse care records. Support Senior Trainers when needed.
- Upgrade Staff Competency and Qualifications: Assist team members in skill improvement. Provide on-the-job training and encourage career progression.
- Complete Administrative Tasks: Such as prepare incident reports and maintain accurate lesson schedules.
- Undertake Assigned Duties: Perform any other tasks as directed by management to assist operations as necessary.
About You
- The job holder must have acquired BHS Stage 3 Complete or equivalent with at least 4 years (S4) or 6 years (S5) relevant work experience
- Have a knowledge of training methods for schooling a variety of horses both under saddle and from the ground; previous experience of working with thoroughbreds would be advantageous
- Be a holder of first-aid certificate
- Personable, enthusiastic and positive personality
- Passion for horses and horse riding
- Excellent communicator preferably in both English and Chinese
