Equestrian Supervisor
The Department
The Equestrian Affairs Department aims to fulfil the Club’s vision to promote riding as a sport and raise participation at all levels, from beginner through to elite. It oversees the management of four equestrian centres, including the Member’s facility at the Beas River Country Club and three public riding schools at Tuen Mun, Lei Yue Mun Park and Pok Fu Lam.
The Job
You will:
- Responsible for the overall welfare of the horses in their designated Unit, including fodder, behaviour and instructions;
- Work with veterinarians and farriers to manage the care of sick and injured horses;
- Maintain the stable, equipment & facilities in good condition;
- Provide quality services to customers, ensure horses are being cared for and exercised according to instructions;
- Supervise Equestrian Assistant, including roster preparation, horse allocations, job duties and facilitating the ongoing development of team members with training;
- Assist in horses travel arrangements and always facilitated with the highest standards of safety and horse welfare;
- Manage stable supplies, allocation and usage, including fodder control and monitor storage space;
- Attend supervisor meetings, share information and updates with management and colleagues, collect feedback and disseminate information to subordinates;
- Instil and promote safe working practices amongst all team members and unit activities;
- Perform any other duties assigned by Senior Administration Officer.
About You:
You should have:
- Acquired qualifications of BHS Stage 3 (Care and Lunge) or equivalent;
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in stables;
- Excellent knowledge in horses handling and horse care;
- Ability to communicate with subordinates to produce high motivation and excellent results;
- Ability to lead by example, showing hands on involvement in the management of Equestrian Assistants and horses.
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
