Security Operations Officer (Doping Team)

The Department

The Security, Integrity and Information Security (“SIIS") Division is responsible for the preservation of integrity by combatting criminality and corruption risks that can threaten horse racing, betting, and membership at the Club. The maintenance of a secure environment and integrity is key to our business. Not only is it important to ensure horse racing in Hong Kong is fair, it is also of paramount importance to the Club that there is governance and fair opportunities in all bet-placements. The department consists of Integrity & Financial Crime Risk, Racing Security & Integrity Assurance, Corporate Security and Information Security Risk & Assurance functions.

 

The job holder reports to Assistant Doping Control Manager. S/he is responsible for ensuring all anti-doping operations carried out in Hong Kong and China comply with the HKJC Rules of Racing and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and monitoring of the performance of Doping Control Officer.  It also works with various stakeholders to ensure the chain of evidence during anti-operation operation is intact.  Travel to Mainland China is required. 

The Job

You will

  • Assist his/her supervisors to conduct daily measures relating to anti-doping operations for horses, jockeys and applicable Club's prospective employees in both Hong Kong and Mainland
  • Counter check the collected sample and to make sure accurate information is recorded and documented before onward submission
  • Document all sampling operations in appropriate records
  • Ensure the sufficient provision and maintenance of the operational equipment for all anti-doping duties
  • Maintain the administration work of Anti-Doping Team and work with various stakeholders
  • Carry out ad-hoc duty as assigned by supervisors
  • Support sampling operations for the Conghua Racecourse (CRC), including: Delivery of horse and human samples from CRC to HK; Provision of assistance in facilitating cross-borders Customs Clearance;
  • Conduct the sampling process in strict compliance with the Club's applicable Rules and departmental SOPs to ensure that the chain of samples withstanding any legal challenge. Assist Veterinary Officer and/or Surgeon or Racing staff member in horse and human sample collections in both Hong Kong and CRC
  • Conduct stable compliance in Hong Kong and CRC

About You

You should have

  • A post-Secondary education; A university degree is preferred but not a must
  • At least 3 years relevant working experience
  • A valid Hong Kong driving license class 1 & 2 is preferred
  • Ability to speak and write simple English and Mandarin
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with and work well in a collaborative, team-based setting
  • Competence and literacy with computers
  • Flexibility to work shift duties including holidays and at odd hours
