The Division
The Sports Business Division is responsible for the entire sports business portfolio and drives end-to-end commercial growth across horse racing, football, lottery, and emerging sporting opportunities. It focuses on strategic marketing to attract and retain diverse customer segments, leads the Racecourse Masterplan development, spearheads new ventures with global growth potential, and manages the sports wagering portfolio to drive revenue and profitability.
Job Summary
The job holder is primarily responsible for supporting the governance and programme management of basketball-related business initiatives, while also maintaining a working understanding of other wagering products, including Racing, Football, and Mark Six, to ensure smooth coordination when performing duties.
He/She will provide support to the BOCC 7x24 operations team to facilitate effective wagering operations across all relevant products. The job holder is required to assist the Line Manager in preparing project and product documentation for management review and approval, as well as compiling regular status updates for stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with established standards and processes.
In addition, he/she will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and operations teams to ensure product and platform readiness; support due diligence activities; ensure adherence to gambling policies and legal requirements; and perform any additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
The Job
- Support and coordinate with different stakeholders for the delivery of various business projects through effective facilitation, tracking and reporting.
- Work with different stakeholders to escalate, manage, and resolve project risk/issue through effective project management, communication, and issue resolution so as to ensure compliance with established standards and processes in completing the planned deliverables on time and within budget.
- Work with internal and external project stakeholders and operation teams for product and platform readiness.
- Provide support to the governance and standards of various business projects.
- Prepare and update documents such as templates, meeting agenda, meeting minutes, status reports, and project plans for regular reporting.
- Assist the Line Manager in preparing all the necessary project and product documents for management review and approval, including the maintenance of the standards of project management and process.
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations on a 7x24 rostering basis or on weekend duties and ensuring the operations are in integrity, efficient, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Supervise a team of operation staff to provide efficient services and support to internal customers and external partners around the clock, and also to deliver assigned team tasks.
- Monitor and master the health status of operations system, establish preventive measurements and work plans to govern daily operations and secure business continuity.
- Report incidents and assist in incident handling in relation to operational and technical issues, in line with Emergency Response Plan and Contingency Planning in significant incidents and major service disruption.
- Participate in reviewing system and infrastructure implementation plan to facilitate the business process and enhance operations efficiency. Adopts desirable work practices and explore new initiatives to enhance service quality.
- Support in operationalizing new project initiatives implementation by proposing changes to SOP, conducts training sessions to subordinates, and brings feedback to project team for system fine-tuning.
- Evaluate performance of subordinates regularly, and put forth suggestions to superiors on subordinates' development plans.
- Due Diligence Support: Provide support for the execution actions per direction from customer due diligence (CDD) exercises conducted by the Due Diligence Team. Ensure the team conducts the AML-related operations in accordance with the SOP and the Club Policy.
- Ensure compliance with Responsible Gambling Policy (RGP) and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to wagering, thereby protecting the integrity of the Club's business.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by Line Manager.
About You
- Bachelor degree in Business, Information Technology or related disciplines
- A minimum of 5 years' operational experience at supervisory level in a control centre like environment
- Be dynamic, energetic and self-motivated
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Chinese
- Knowledge of horse racing and football betting, and basketball sports will be an advantage
- Ability to work independently and be willing to work on 24-hr shift or on weekend duties and be willing to travel to other countries within the region
- Knowledge in business analysis and project management in Waterfall and/or Agile methodology, with experience in project management and facilitation
- Proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience in Project Management Tools (e.g. Project, Confluence and JIRA) is an advantage
