The Racing Division is committed to managing all aspects of Hong Kong’s world-class sport of horse racing, covering the full value chain — from importation and training to racedays, equestrian, welfare, integrity, and international engagement.  With Conghua Racecourse and Greater Bay Area expansion, we’re shaping racing into a dynamic sporting, social, and entertainment experience.

 

Job Summary

The Broadcasting Operations team is responsible for live coverage of horse racing in Hong Kong, production of related promotional video, formatting betting and racing-related information into TV graphic displays and documentaries for on-air at TV stations as well as display on the giant display screens and closed-circuit TV network at the racecourses.  The Chinese Wagering Program Team in Broadcasting Operations is responsible for producing and packaging racing television programs, both for local broadcasting by terrestrial free-to-air television, pay cable television, overseas simulcasting operations of which betting on Hong Kong’s horse racing is operated.

 

The job holder reports to the Manager, Broadcasting Operations (Broadcast and Technical Operations).

 

The Job

  • Supervises front-line operations team to ensure smooth operations of Club’s TV Production systems and racecourse AV systems
  • Performs quality control and monitoring to ensure Club’s programme signals are complied with broadcasting standard for both local and overseas live transmission 
  • Oversees all operational issues and contingency planning of AV / TV systems, and performs system fall-back & recovery when required 
  • Ensures the efficiency and quality of video and audio signal transmissions for both overseas race simulcasting and local television/online broadcasting
  • Liaises with internal and external clients on AV system design   
  • Supervises the AV system implementation  to ensure the completion on time and within budget
  • Maintains and/or develops expertise in audio and video concepts and technologies, as well as other skillsets required within the professional AV industry
  • Initials and edits project  documentation for tendering and procurement process
  • Responsible for signal checking with local and overseas service providers on Simulcast raceday
  • Assists the line manager in any projects as assigned
  • Ensures compliance with Responsible Gambling Policy (RGP) and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to wagering, thereby protecting the integrity of the Club’s business
  • Undertakes other duties as assigned by Line Manager

 

About You

  • A Bachelor degree or higher diploma in Communication/Visual Arts with major in AV Engineering or TV production or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience with AV Consultant or system integrator or a TV Station and venue AV system design & development
  • Experience in AV industry managerial role with strong leadership skill
  • Good sense of trends and the initiative to stay up-to-date, be self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently and willing to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills, fluency in both spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment    
  • Willing to work long and irregular hours including Sunday and public holiday
