Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Department
The Membership and Customer Excellence (MCE) Division is responsible for delivering world-class experiences and deepening engagement across all customer segments. The team oversees operations of clubhouses, racecourses, and Off-Course Betting Branches (OCBBs), while enhancing member and owner value propositions and promoting interest in horse ownership and equestrian sports. It leads the Club’s customer experience strategy across digital and physical touchpoints, ensuring consistency, agility, and excellence. The Division also manages data strategy and governance to build a unified view of customers, enabling more personalised and impactful interactions.
The Job
- Oversee data management and quality assurance, leading efforts to ensure the availability, quality, and integration of data from diverse sources, establishing a centralised data repository that supports comprehensive analytics and informed decision-making across the organisation
- Lead data analysis and modelling initiatives, directing the development of advanced statistical models and analytics to transform raw data into strategic insights, guiding organisational planning and performance optimisation
- Manage the development and implementation of analytical tools, overseeing the creation and enhancement of tools and reporting systems to meet business needs and align with overall strategic objectives
- Facilitate collaboration with stakeholders, acting as a key liaison between business units and IT to ensure successful project execution and alignment of analytics initiatives with organisational goals
- Monitor and evaluate performance metrics, leading the tracking and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide actionable insights that inform strategic decisions and enhance operational efficiency
- Guide people development and team empowerment, mentoring team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing to elevate the overall capability of the analytics function
- Oversee project management and resource allocation, managing project resources and budgets to ensure efficient utilisation and timely delivery of analytics solutions while maintaining compliance with the Club's standards
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation, championing initiatives for process enhancements and efficiencies to promote a culture of innovation and agility within the analytics team
About You
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computing, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Finance or related disciplines. Advanced degrees (e.g., MSc, MBA) are preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in data analytics, project management, or related fields, with a demonstrated ability to apply various analytical techniques, including quantitative and/or financial modelling, data visualisation and machine learning
- Proven experience managing the full project lifecycle, including agile methodologies, with a track record of delivering complex projects successfully
- Knowledge and experience working on data analytics or the delivery of data analytics solutions
- Strong technical knowledge in business intelligence development with large volumes and complex data structures
- Leadership experience in developing and mentoring teams
