Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Special Project Department leads the integrated Conghua Racecourse (CRC) business strategy, consolidating cross-functional workstreams to build a cohesive, integrated and sustainable business model, enabling CRC to become the foundation of the Club’s long-term development in the Greater Bay Area.
The Job
- Lead the end‑to‑end establishment of Mainland retail operations, including brand development, product strategy, marketing, and O2O channel setup (retail shop, pavilions, kiosks, and WeChat online store).
- Develop signature product franchises such as hero horse collections, souvenirs and crossover collaborations with partner brands.
- Create compelling stories and customer connections through retail touchpoints, enhancing memories of Conghau Racecourse (CRC) experiences.
- Design and execute year‑round retail marketing strategies aligned with racing calendars, cultural festivals, and tourism events.
- Elevate customer experience through store design, visual merchandising, and experiential activations (DIY/Glam Up activities, cultural partnerships, co‑branding).
- Drive sales operations excellence across O2O channels, ensuring healthy P&L performance through effective sourcing, pricing, and inventory management.
- Manage CRM initiatives, loyalty programs, and lifecycle campaigns to strengthen customer retention and engagement.
- Oversee vendor management, procurement, and quality control to ensure operational standards and compliance.
- Lead a team to deliver sales targets, set KPIs, and foster a high‑performance culture.
- Conduct market research, analyze customer insights, and identify trends to drive product innovation and competitive advantage.
- Explore & develop co-branding partnership opportunities with brands, IP, designer, illustrators etc for designated target segments in order to drive customer interest and to showcase the club’s value from the aspects of sports and entertainment.
- Ensure operations standards at channels & warehousing comply with club procedures, customer service and standards, including in-job service, product & marketing training to frontline.
- Manage and maintain the Digital Channel to optimize the opportunities through O2O strategy. Be responsible in marketing communication and system operations. Administer online marketing campaign through proper coordination with management and agencies.
- Analyses sales figures, customer reactions and market trends to anticipate the right products strategy.
- Drive and Develop channel strategies to deliver growth plan to optimize profitability
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail, Brand Management, Marketing, or related disciplines.
- A minimum of 15 years in management experience in retail business with retailing and merchandising experience.
- Proven track record in new business and channel development, with solid O2O sales and promotion management experience.
- Strong ability to design and execute sales and marketing campaigns.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and analytical skills; able to work under pressure with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in English and Chinese, with strong communication skills.
- Deep understanding of the gifting/premium business, consumer behavior, and retail trends.
- Creative mindset with product development and merchandising experience; design sense is highly desirable.
- Customer‑centric, trend‑sensitive, and able to identify opportunities to innovate and grow.
- Excellent organisational and people management skills.
- This role is based in Hong Kong and expected frequent travel to China.
