The Job

• Delivery Roadmap Ownership
  • Own the program-level delivery roadmap for Basketball, including release phasing, dependency mapping, and cross-team alignment
  • Ensure the roadmap reflects engineering constraints, operational readiness, regulatory needs, and vendor timelines
  • Partner with the Product Manager on delivery phasing and sequencing, maintaining clear boundaries (PM owns the strategic/why; PO Lead owns the how/when)
• Program-Level Backlog Leadership
  • Oversee and guide multiple Product Owners in maintaining well-organised, prioritised backlogs for each squad or stream
  • Ensure backlog clarity, consistency in user story quality, acceptance criteria, and behavioural definitions across teams
  • Drive cross-squad refinement ceremonies and ensure at least two-sprint readiness across all workstreams
• Cross-Team & Vendor Orchestration
  • Act as the primary coordination point among BAU teams, Clubwide functions, AOP Engineering, and external vendors (e.g., Amelco)
  • Ensure smooth integration and alignment across differing engineering partners and squads
  • Lead the resolution of cross-team blockers—technical, operational, regulatory, or vendor-related
• Release Management & Testing Governance
  • Own the Basketball release calendar, ensuring sequencing, version control, and multi-system readiness
  • Lead UAT/test planning with QA, ensuring coverage across negative paths, vendor behaviours, risk scenarios, and regulatory edge cases
  • Coordinate go-live readiness, including Operations, CSII, Trading, Channels, Legal, and Compliance signoffs
  • Manage continuous release cycles, ensuring stable and high-quality deployments
• People Leadership & Coaching
  • Manage a small team of 1–3 Product Owners or shared delivery staff, providing coaching, performance feedback, and role clarity
  • Elevate story quality, refinement discipline, and delivery maturity across the team
  • Recruit, train, and develop PO talent to support program growth
• Delivery Decision-Making & Risk Management
  • Make daily and program-level decisions balancing scope, risk, quality, and delivery timelines
  • Escalate only major risks; act as the primary decision-maker for delivery execution
  • Anticipate and manage regulatory, operational, or vendor-related risks early in the cycle
• Partnership with Technical Delivery Lead
  • Work jointly with the Technical Delivery Lead to align technical sequencing, dependencies, and design constraints
  • Own product delivery outcomes while respecting engineering ownership of technical delivery
  • Bridge communication between technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders
• Post-Launch Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead analysis of launch performance, user behaviour, and operational impact
  • Identify opportunities for iteration and feed improvements into the delivery roadmap
  • Own production defect triage from the product perspective, ensuring behavioural clarity and prioritisation

About You

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Product Owner or in product delivery roles (preferably in regulated or complex technical environments)
• Demonstrated experience leading multi-squad delivery across several systems, vendors, or organisational units
• Experience managing Product Owners or delivery staff
• Proven track record delivering large-scale or multi-phase product initiatives
• Strong understanding of transactional, rules-driven products and multi-system integrations
• Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in agile delivery principles with a focus on practical, outcome-oriented execution
• Strong ability to manage complex dependencies and cross-functional relationships
