The Department
The Customer Strategy, Insights, and Innovation (CSII) Division is dedicated to cultivating customer-centric capabilities across the Club ecosystem and shaping customer strategies that drive business growth. Through a data-driven approach, the Division strives to achieve a 360-degree understanding and insights of owners, members and wagering customers, enabling the seamless design of end-to-end customer experiences across online and offline channels (Racecourses and Off-course Betting Branches). This is achieved by integrating Clubwide customer data onto a unified platform, creating a single view of our customers that empowers us to deliver personalised offers and unique experiences.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design and development of data visualizations and analysis that drive actionable insights of our customers. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Insights & Data Analytics, the role involves developing data workflows and business intelligence tools to streamline the analytical process and analyze key business drivers. Key functions include collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights and storytelling dashboards, while promoting a data-driven decision-making culture.
The Job
You will
- Apply advanced analytics and leverage Tableau to create impactful dashboards that support data-driven decision-making.
- Explore data sources, design data pipeline and perform ETL for dashboard development.
- Conduct statistical analyses to derive actionable insights and prepare reports that evaluate business performance based on key metrics.
- Convey insights through a compelling narrative that highlights key findings and their implications for decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements in data analytics and contribute innovative ideas to improve operational efficiencies.
- Build Alteryx applications and automate the analytics workflow to improve work efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to relevant policies and legal requirements to maintain the integrity of the Club's operations.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by Manager.
About You
You should have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in customer data analysis and dashboard development role in a medium to large sized organization.
- Proficient in using SQL in data warehouse and cloud environment.
- Strong problem-solving skill and a strategic mindset, with the ability to analyses complex data, identify core issues and tanslate into actionable insights.
- A good persuasive storyteller to communicate analytics results to stakeholders in plain language.
- Keen to take initiatives to translate business problems into analytics-led solutions with appropriate methodology, manage the business application effectively and evaluate the results.
- Solid business acumen with strong analytical ability.
- Proven experience in leading other analysts.
- At least 3 years relevant experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
- Proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
- Practical experience with Azure Databricks or comparable cloud-based data platform.
- Experience with Python, UiPath or other ETL tools and data integration techniques.
- Experience in Alteryx development and automation.
- Passion and knowledge of horse racing a distinct advantage.
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
