Manager, Betting Control Centre (Operations)

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Wagering Products (WP) Division is responsible for driving the wagering business strategy and results for the Club through the wagering products of Horse Racing (Local and Overseas), Basketball, Football, Mark 6 Lottery and International Commingling with the aim to drive wagering turnover and revenue growth in a socially responsible manner.
The Job
- Support and coordinate with different stakeholders for the delivery of various business Projects through effective facilitation, tracking and reporting
- Work with different stakeholders to escalate, manage, and resolve project risk/issue through effective project management, communication, and issue resolution so as to ensure compliance with established standards and processes in completing the planned deliverables on time and within budget
- Work with internal and external project stakeholders and operation teams for product and platform readiness
- Provide support to the governance and standards of various Business Projects
- Prepare and update documents such as templates, meeting agenda, meeting minutes, status reports, and project plans for regular reporting
- Assist the Line Manager in preparing all the necessary project and product documents for management review and approval, including the maintenance of the standards of project management and process
- Manage the day-to-day operations on a 7x24 rostering basis or on weekend duties and ensuring the operations are in integrity, efficient, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Act as the OIC to supervise a team of operation staff to provide efficient services and support to internal customers and external partners around the clock, and also to deliver assigned team tasks
- Monitor and master the health status of operations system, establish preventive measurements and work plans to govern daily operations and secure business continuity
- Respond and manage incidents in relation to operational and technical issues. Initial Emergency Response Plan and Contingency Planning in significant incidents and major service disruption
- Review system and infrastructure implementation and management to facilitate the business process and enhance operations efficiency. Reinforces desirable work practices and explore new initiatives to enhance service quality
- Implement new project initiatives to operations by reviewing and proposing changes to SOP, conducts training sessions to subordinates, and brings feedback to project team for system fine-tuning
- Evaluate performance of subordinates regularly, and put forth suggestions to superiors on subordinates' development plans
- Provide support for the execution actions per direction from customer due diligence (CDD) exercises conducted by the Due Diligence Team and SandI. Ensure the team conducts the AML-related operations in accordance with the SOP and the Club Policy
- Ensure compliance with Responsible Gambling Policy (RGP) and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to wagering, thereby protecting the integrity of the Club's business

About You
- Bachelor degree in Business, Information Technology or related disciplines
- a minimum of 6 years' operational experience at supervisory level in a control centre like environment
- A dynamic, energetic, and self-motivated personality
- Knowledge of horse racing and football betting, and basketball sports will be an advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Chinese
- Ability to work independently and be willing to work on 24-hr shift or on weekend duties and be willing to travel to other countries within the region
- Knowledge in business analysis and project management in Waterfall and/or Agile methodology, with sound project management and facilitation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience in Project Management Tools (e.g. Project, Confluence and JIRA) is an advantage
