The Division
The Sports Business Division is central to the Club’s overall aspiration to become a globally recognised sports and entertainment brand, with world-class horse racing at its core. The Division’s overarching focus is to deliver sustainable growth of the Club’s sports business, deepen customer engagement, and contribute to position the Club as a leading global sports and entertainment brand to enable its commitment to social betterment. Its strategy is delivered through three pillars: broadening the fan base and prospecting new customers, growing the sports wagering business, and building the Club’s brand and commercialising its assets.
Job Summary
The job holder reports to the Executive Manager, Betting Operations Control and supports the management of CRC race day operations on a roster basis to ensure the smooth and effective execution of race meeting operations, Interactive Spectacle activities and related operational controls.
Responsibilities include developing work plans and coordinating operational readiness activities in Hong Kong for CRC race day operational control, coordinating with stakeholders, monitoring system and operational health, participating in operational enhancement projects, supporting system implementations, trials and readiness activities, impiementing new initiatives, reviewing and enhancing SOPs and operational procedures, evaluating subordinate performance and supporting business continuity, and undertaking other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
The Job
- Coordinates and liaises with business stakeholders (Racing, Broadcasting, Racecourse Announcers, HK BOCC and other stakeholders) on the planning, readiness and execution of CRC race meeting operations throughout the race meeting cycle in accordance with established SOPs and Interactive Spectacle operation workflow, including contingency and exception handling requirements
- Develops and maintains operational work plans and coordinates readiness activities in Hong Kong to support CRC race meeting operations, ensuring operational procedures, do-and-check controls, resources, training, stakeholder preparations and contingency arrangements are in place prior to race day operations
- Performs operational control duties at CRC on race days, including pre-race meeting start-up activities, race day admission-related operations, race result processing, and other customer engagement activities, providing operational control support for Interactive Spectacle to ensure the smooth and effective end-to-end execution
- Acts as the central operation control coordinator on race day, among Racing, Broadcasting, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate race meeting operations and Racecourse Announcement activities
- Manages the development, review and enhancement of required SOPs, and prepare related briefing materials and training programmes for other team members to support operational readiness and consistency of execution
- Monitors the health and operational readiness of systems and operational processes, implements preventive measures and contingency arrangements, and supports business continuity of CRC operations
- Assesses operational issue impacts and ensures timely escalation and communication to Executive Control in charge, and IOCC Coordinator
- Plans, coordinates and participates in pre-event drills, trials and simulations via table-top exercise and testing environment, in HK or CRC as arranged by Integrated PMO, as part of the Drills, Integrated Trial and Simulations activities, and drives follow-up actions to strengthen operational preparedness and service resilience
- Supports the implementation of system enhancements, customer journey initiatives and operational changes by assessing operational impacts, recommending SOP enhancement, conducting readiness and training activities, and providing feedback to proiect team for service improvement
- Undertakes other duties as assigned by Line Manager
About You
- Bachelor degree in Business or related disciplines
- A minimum of 8 years' operational experience at supervisory level in a control centre like environment
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure
- Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- Knowledge of horse racing operations, wagering systems and customer engagement initiatives is an advantage
- Willing to work on a 24-hour roster basis and travel to CRC or other locations as required
