Manager, Charities (TIP: JC Scholarship)

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.
The Department
The job holder is responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships (“HKJC Scholarships”), which include new and existing scholarship schemes for undergraduate, postgraduate, and vocational education studies, under the Talent and Sector Development to achieve the intended objectives and social impact of the priority issue, as well as to nurture JC scholars as caring leaders for a better Hong Kong.
The Job
- Support the planning and implementation of new and existing scholarship schemes, including programme development and improvement, talent and community building, and impact measurement to achieve the project’s objectives, outcomes and overall impact.
- Engage and collaborate with various key stakeholders, including schools, local and overseas tertiary institutions, government bureaux and departments, NGOs, and service providers to effectively implement the projects.
- Design through a series of learning and development programmes, as well as engagement and networking activities to build and manage a community of talents.
- Produce and co-ordinate promotion and communication work such as publicity collateral, videos, websites, events and workshops to create awareness and impact.
- Support the production of committee papers and programme reports for regular committee meetings and board submission.
- Support broader talent development initiatives for the Trust.
- Continue personal growth and development through various activities including acquisition of field knowledge, attending training and events, and work closely with peers and support development of junior team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, such as to participate in or support knowledge sharing under TSD theme, and engaging in other projects and grant-making projects as and when required and carry out other duties as directed by the Executive Manager (Talent & Sector Development) and Head of Charities (Talent & Sector Development)
About You
- A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant working experience, preferably with exposure to education sector, NGOs, policy research, and/or social service settings
- Solid track record in managing various scales of education-related projects
- Good knowledge of operating scholarship schemes or similar education programmes
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in both English and Chinese (including writing skills)
- Project management, issue/data analysis, desktop research and presentation skills
- Soft skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborations
- Proficient in PC applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Impact evaluation and research skills, along with vendor management experience would be advantageous
