The Hong Kong Jockey Club
Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.
The Department
This team is responsible for the 4-year pilot Scheme set up to support organisation growth of small Non-profit Organisations (NPO) by incorporating the trust based philanthropy approach with the view of building a vibrant NPO sector. The Talent and Sector Development Team will centrally co-ordinate the operation.
The Job
- Assist Senior Manager and work collaboratively with fellow internal programme teams and external partners to support successful operation including sector specific engagement, facilitate network building, funding assessment, monitoring, knowledge consolidation and impact measurement.
- Assist strategic engagement including brand building, publicity, ceremonies and media exposure to demonstrate thought leadership
- Provide support in collaboration with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to Club’s Finance in budget monitoring and reporting, Procurement in engaging vendors, programme teams of Charities in programme execution, collaborations and communications.
- Assist in preparing high quality periodic reports and maintaining records of the Scheme for Management and Trustees’ review.
- Support engagement activities in relation to the Scheme including ceremonies, Voting Member Visits, Community Day and other related functions as part of the ongoing project monitoring process, stakeholder engagement and identification of development opportunities.
About You
- Bachelor's Degree or above with at least 8 years of relevant working experience (with background of consulting, policy research, public administration, grant management, NGO, academia or public and social service setting would be an advantage)
- Strong track record in project management, stakeholder engagement, and event implementation/ execution
- Excellent command of English and Chinese in both written and spoken form.
- Candidates with less experience may be considered for Assistant Charities Manager.
