Senior Manager, Charities (Payment Operations)

The Hong Kong Jockey Club

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Division

The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.

The Department

Reporting directly to Deputy Executive Manager, Charities, the job holder is responsible for:

  • Design and execute strategies to facilitate payment teammate adoption of workplace changes, including overseeing the smooth implementation and transition to the new GRM system
  • Continuous review and improvement of the payment operations to enhance efficiency of fund disbursement while balancing control
  • Lead the enhanced service visits for Trust-funded projects and arrangements for progress report review
  • Liaise and collaborate with the Club’s Finance and Audit departments on financial and payment related issues 

The Job

  • Accessing change readiness, identifying key stakeholders, creating change management plan for GRM (payment process and service visits) or change initiatives acknowledging all aspects of change - analysis, plan implementation, communication and other associated change consideration.
  • Developing change management processes and tools to support the integration and engagement with change management principles.
  • Embracing new opportunities to automate change processes and integrate best practices into existing workflows. 
  • Monitor the implementation of the new GRM and coordinate with all other stakeholders to introduce enhancement necessary to ensure that the new system best serve the needs of Payment Team and the Division as a whole.
  • Lead the service visits portfolio for effective implementation of the visits as one of the underpinning monitoring pillars for ensuring the appropriate use of Trust funds.
  • Provide adequate oversight and guidance to the team, foster sense of ownership and commitment, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Perform other activities as necessary, including ad-hoc research, creating presentation and training materials, writing reports, planning and execution of stakeholder engagement activities, etc.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with some experience in consulting, internal audit, social science and/or market research fields.
  • Experience within organisation process and performance audit, along with social or market research
  • Good understanding of philanthropic topics, including local social issues and trends, latest international philanthropic trends, tools, and resources.
