Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Department
The Membership and Customer Excellence (MCE) Division is responsible for delivering world-class experiences and deepening engagement across all customer segments. The team oversees operations of clubhouses, racecourses, and Off-Course Betting Branches (OCBBs), while enhancing member and owner value propositions and promoting interest in horse ownership and equestrian sports. It leads the Club’s customer experience strategy across digital and physical touchpoints, ensuring consistency, agility, and excellence. The Division also manages data strategy and governance to build a unified view of customers, enabling more personalised and impactful interactions.
The Job
- Define and own the Club's analytics models and insight products roadmap to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics and insight products, including ideation, prioritisation, development, deployment, adoption and continuous improvement
- Manage the development, validation, deployment and monitoring of predictive, prescriptive and AI-driven analytical models
- Build and manage reusable insight products and decision-support tools across business divisions
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where analytics and AI can deliver measurable business value
- Lead a team of data scientists and analytics professionals to develop innovative analytical solutions and best practices
- Partner with the Governance team to establish model governance, performance monitoring and responsible AI controls to ensure analytical solutions remain trusted, explainable and effective
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear business recommendations and actionable insights for management
- Drive adoption of analytics products by working with stakeholders to embed insights into business processes and decisions
- Collaborate with Data Platform teams and IT teams to ensure data availability, quality and scalability required for analytics products
- Undertake other projects as assigned by the Chief Data Officer (Head of Department)
About You
- University graduates with 10+ years of professional experiences
- Strong track record in using data and insights to support customer strategy and drive business results
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in developing and implementing customer prediction models or advanced analytics solutions
- Proven experience in managing large-scale data and AI initiatives, including portfolio oversight and governance frameworks
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and drive data adoption across the Club
- Able to influence and engage others effectively, demonstrating strong peer leadership and collaboration
- Good structured thinking skills, with the ability to simplify complex problems and translate them into practical solutions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear way and highlight business impact to different levels of management
- Able to work closely with stakeholders across different functions and external partners to deliver results
