Technical Manager, Application Development (2-year contract)

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Department

The IT Change Department is crucial for ensuring the successful delivery of all IT change initiatives, whether using agile or waterfall methodologies. It is supported by a robust IT Change Management Office (CMO), which oversees the entire process to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Key responsibilities of the IT change department:

The Job

  • Participate in the RTA Revamp Project under the system integration team, managing the RTA vendor for end-to-end system integration deliverables
  • Work closely with the architects and RTA vendor to support integration solution design
  • Perform technical review on the RTA vendor deliverables, accountable for ensuring the technical deliverables meet the Club IT governance, architecture and testing framework
  • Responsible for collaborating among Club IT system development teams to deliver any integration changes to connect to the modernised RTA platform
  • Support the end-to-end testing phases on integration, including SIT, SAT, and UAT. Responsible for monitoring defect resolution with the RTA vendor among Club IT system development teams
  • Responsible for reviewing, validating and testing the SSO solution with RTA vendor and Club IAM, following the solution defined by the Club Architects
  • Oversee the technical aspects of mobile application deliverables provided by the RTA vendor, covering design, build, and testing phases. Work closely with Architects to ensure the mobile solutions comply with architecture and security standards in the Club

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline
  • At least 6 years of work experience in IT projects implementation, delivering mid-to large-scale enterprise system. Less experience will be considered as an Assistant Technical Manager
  • Preferably with solid hands-on experience in mid to large-scale package-based SaaS solution implementation and participation in the end-to-end project lifecycle
  • Hands-on experience in HR / Workface Management solution implementation
  • Experience managing vendors delivering system integration and mobile solution development
  • Hands-on experience in application development, APIs, system interfaces, and integration platforms
  • Exposure to mobile application architectures (iOS / Android / hybrid frameworks)
  • Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors, Event Driven Architecture, and Solace Integration would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge in DevOps, CI/CD
  • Proficiency in writing, presentation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English, Cantonese and Putonghua
