Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

We design, build, and operate the technology that powers the Club. Our primary focus is on delivering the service that supports our hospitality, racing and wagering operations, to ensure that our customers and members enjoy exceptional experiences.

We also deliver the changes necessary to drive business growth through new products and services. And, we are committed to safeguarding the Club by protecting it from external threats, providing a secure and resilient technological environment.

The Job

• Lead engagement in effort estimation, service and application design, code construction, testing, maintenance and support of high-volume customer-facing web channel applications, comprising client, server and database components
• Design, enhance, develop and maintain databases to support the business and IT requirements
• Conducting feasibility studies to evaluate or pilot new business-enabling technology
• Planning resources to accomplish development tasks, monitor and report the progress
• Performing software development and conducting reviews according to business requirements and defined Club IT processes and standards
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, system assurance, project managers, and the operations team to deliver high-quality mobile and web systems on time and on budget
• Provide rostered off-duty standby support for the production systems
• Work closely with Shenzhen development teams, System Assurance, Infrastructure and Operations teams to deliver high-quality systems
• Create and foster a diverse and inclusive culture built on trust and respect to attract, develop, and retain talent.  Serve as a role model to support cross team/division/department efforts and model collaborative behaviours.  Inspire the team to bring forward ideas and solutions to empower people to accelerate business success

About You

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline
• Professional and Technical certifications from Microsoft / Amazon or equivalent knowledge are preferred
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of solid development experience in .NET Framework, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, MVC, AJAX, JSON, XML, JQuery
• Proven experience in managing projects and leading development teams, both locally and remotely
• Experience in ReactJS, AngularJS, VueJS, Node.js would be a plus
• Strong understanding of UI/UX framework, DevOps and Agile Methodology
• Strong understanding of web performance tuning and data security
• Strong understanding of Linux is a definite advantage
• Good Knowledge and/or Experience in CI/CD, e.g.Bitbucket, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy
• Good Knowledge and/or Experience in off-the-shelf packages, such as Sitecore, Teamsite, WordPress and Magento, is a definite advantage
• Good Knowledge and/or Experience in Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms is a definite advantage
• Good Knowledge and/or Experience in WordPress is a definite advantage
• Good understanding of web analytics, SEO, iOS, Android, social networks, and video streaming
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and under pressure
• Experience in vendor management and building strong working relationships would be a plus
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English, Cantonese and (Putonghua is a plus)
