Engineer, IT Asset and Configuration Management

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Support Engineer to join our IT Asset and Configuration Management team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in IT operations and asset management. The engineer will assist in maintaining IT systems, supporting asset lifecycle processes, and ensuring accurate data in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The role involves hands-on support, basic data analysis, and learning to work with discovery tools and IT service management practices.

Major Tasks

•    System Support and Monitoring
Assist in monitoring and maintaining IT systems to ensure smooth daily operations and support end-of-service transitions.
•    Asset Data Management
Help maintain accurate asset records in the CMDB and support data cleanup and validation activities.
•    Discovery Process Assistance
Support the implementation and maintenance of discovery tools to improve asset visibility and data accuracy.
•    Technical Support for CMDB
Provide basic technical support to ensure CMDB performance and assist in resolving data-related issues.
•    IT Operations Support
Collaborate with IT teams to support system health and contribute to efficient IT operations.
•    Data Analysis and Reporting
Perform basic data analysis to identify trends and support improvements in asset and configuration management processes.
•    Knowledge Management Support
  o    Assist in creating and updating documentation related to asset and configuration management processes, tools, and standards.
  o    Collect internal knowledge base articles to support operational efficiency and reduce repeat issues.
  o    Help capture and organize lessons learned and recurring support resolutions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Familiarity with CMDB concepts and asset lifecycle
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills in Cantonese and English
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to ITIL practices or certification (e.g., ITIL Foundation)
  • Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with discovery tools or asset tracking systems
  • Basic knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
  • Experience with documentation or knowledge base platforms (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint)

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, asset management, or configuration management preferred. Fresh graduates with internship experience are welcome.
