The Division
The Racing Division is committed to managing all aspects of Hong Kong’s world-class sport of horse racing, covering the full value chain — from importation and training to racedays, equestrian, welfare, integrity, and international engagement. With Conghua Racecourse and Greater Bay Area expansion, we’re shaping racing into a dynamic sporting, social, and entertainment experience.
The Job
- Assist in planning and implementing maintenance programmes for tracks and fringe areas.
- Assist in raceday operations, including surface preparation, going inspections, and supervision of casual labour etc.
- Develop practical skills in track maintenance, machinery operation, track assessment, sampling techniques, and implementation of standard operating procedures.
- Monitor the quality of maintenance works and track conditions against prescribed standards.
- Develop knowledge of occupational safety and health standards and agricultural chemical applications in track maintenance.
- Assist in supervising frontline operational staff and ensuring compliance with safety and operational requirements.
- Perform a variety of administrative and clerical support.
- Assist in project management, research activities, and data collection for track and turf studies.
- Support contingency and emergency operations as required.
- Be required to work outside Hong Kong.
About You
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant and Soil Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Understanding basic Mandarin is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work long and unsociable hours, including weekends, statutory holidays, and under challenging weather conditions.
- Enthusiasm to learn, develop professionally, and gain hands-on operational experience.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driving licence (Class 1 and/or 2) is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to undertake rotational training assignments and work in a dynamic outdoor environment.
- Candidates may be required to work outside Hong Kong.
