The Job
You will:
- Assist in Raceday surface preparation, site inspection.
- Assist in implement track and machine maintenance activities such as material top-up, machine preventative service schedule, SOP, etc.
- Operate various agricultural and horticultural equipment and machinery (e.g. tractor w/harrow/float/wheel packer/drag, motor grader, water truck, articulated equipment, starting gate).
- Develop machinery operation skill for maintenance and sampling of All Weather Track and Sand footing.
- Monitor the quality of work assigned against prescribed standards.
- Provide hands-on training and guidance to staff members on maintenance and machine operation skills to comply with OSH standards.
- Process and keep records (attendance, daily work schedule) for team members and submit these records to the immediate supervisor.
- Develop working knowledge on Tracks, trotting ring, artificial, synthetic tracks and ground maintenance, racetrack assessment etc.
- Co-ordinate with various internal department to ensure the daily operations run smoothly.
- Assist in project management and data collection for track studies.
- Perform a variety of administrative and clerical support.
- Be required to work outside of Hong Kong.
About You
You should have:
- Diploma level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Maintenance, Civil Engineering, Soil Science, Agriculture, Agronomy or related disciplines
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, understanding of basic Mandarin is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong analytical skill and the patience to work long, unsociable hours, on weekends and under tough weather condition.
- Enthusiasm to learn and to get hands-on.
- A valid driving licence (Class 1, and 2) is required.
- Hands-on experience in using Microsoft Office applications.
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
