Veterinary Clinical Technician
Job Summary
The job holder ensures effective, safe support to veterinary surgeons while performing all clinical functions within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Services. He/she is the key support to the Principal Veterinary Clinical Technician in ensuring the Department of Clinical Services ( DVCS ) is at the fore-front of World Class Equine. The job holder will be required to work in different locations assigned by HKJC, include but not limited to Hong Kong (HK) and People's Republic of China (PRC)
Major Tasks
- Veterinary Clinical Support: Assist various clinical procedures of the Veterinary Clinical Services Department with a high level of professionalism to meet the department's mission of world-class veterinary care. Support clinical operation as required by Vet surgeons and Principal Veterinary Clinical Technician or his/ her delegation. Committed to provide high level nursing care to horses. Follow the policies and guidelines by the Club and Department of Veterinary Clinical Services
- Hospital Presentation: Ensure strong presentation of the hospital clinical areas to reflect high standards of professionalism Clean, tidy and well organised in all locations.
- Maintain Hospital Facilities: Perform routine inspection of clinical facilities (equipment and buildings) on daily, weekly and monthly bases. Monitor and report faults in or damage to equipment and arrange their prompt repair with the appropriate service provider. Report abnormalities to the Principal Veterinary Clinical Technician/ Dual Site Technical Diagnostic and Facilities Support Manager.
- Biosecurity, Hygiene Standards and Waste Management: Assist in maintaining high standards of biosecurity, hygiene, housekeeping and professionalism of all clinical areas of the Department at all times. To comply with the related protocols to minimize contamination and ensuring proper handling of waste in the hospital.
- Events, Race day and Emergency Support: Support events and horse racing operations by the Club and provide veterinary clinical services. Demonstrate maturity and keen support to the various emergency requirements in the Veterinary Clinical Department.
- Compliance and Occupational Health and Safety Management (OSH): Follow the standard operation procedures and complied all relevant Governmental obligations and Club's policies. Promote a 'don't walk by' Culture in Compliance and Safety to strengthen communication between the First and Second Lines of Defence. Must fully comply with the Club's OSH Regulations and be vigilant and report to the Principal Veterinary Clinical Technician if any safety concerns.

Education
Minimum requirement: High school certification.
