“Shaping the Future of Racing from Galloping to the Equine Ecosystem.”

“I was fortunate to join the Club as a Management Trainee three years ago, which cultivated my ability to become an agile and quick learner. I was exposed to a remarkably diverse range of functions, each presenting a new challenge and a steep learning curve, from managing property construction tenders to overseeing grant-making projects, and from driving divisional changes to producing mega-events. Each rotation demanded that I quickly assimilate new information, adapt to various team cultures, and deliver results. This constant cycle of entering unfamiliar territory, mastering new skills, and applying them effectively is what honed my adaptability and resilience.

Being part of the organizing team for the Longines Hong Kong International Races (HKIR) in 2023 was a definitive highlight. The role provided immense exposure, as I was involved in overseeing event productions in the HKIR week. My responsibilities span from the creative development of event content with production houses to coordinating with a wide spectrum of internal stakeholders, including facility management, tracks, security, finance, and catering teams. Despite the pressing timeline, I successfully drove cross-functional collaboration and effective stakeholder management. Working on a project deeply connected with horse racing solidified my interest in the thrilling ecosystem of the racing industry.

I now apply these well-rounded perspectives in my role as the procurement manager of the racing category. Here, I provide support through the international sourcing and purchasing of veterinary clinics and laboratory services, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operation. Moreover, I am actively contributing to the development of the equine value chain, aligning with the Club's vision for its mainland presence.”
